Privacy
A strata corporation's records belong to the corporation. Estaro holds them on its behalf, and hands them back on request.
Whose data this is
The lots, proprietors, budgets, contributions and payment history in Estaro are the corporation's own records. We do not treat them as ours to trade, mine or repurpose. If a corporation leaves Estaro, it can ask for an export of everything it put in, and for the deletion of whatever we are not required to keep.
What we hold
- People. Names, email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses and Taxpayer Registration Numbers of proprietors, committee members and managing agents — the details a corporation needs to bill and contact its members.
- Property. Lot numbers, unit entitlements and who owns which lot.
- Money. Budgets, the contribution raised against each lot each period, payments and their receipts, and reminders sent about late payment.
- Registration documents. The certificate of registration, proof of address and TRN supplied when the corporation registers, which our staff review before it goes live.
Card numbers are not on that list. A card is entered on the payment provider's own page, and Estaro keeps only the brand, the last four digits and the result of the transaction — enough for a receipt and for the treasurer to reconcile.
Who can see it
Access is per corporation and per person. A proprietor sees their own lots and payments. A treasurer sees the corporation's finances because the committee granted that permission. One corporation never sees another's records, even where the same person is a member of both.
Estaro's own staff see registration documents in order to verify a corporation, and a corporation's records when somebody there asks us for help. Verification decisions are recorded against the person who made them.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data, we do not run advertising, and we do not build profiles for anyone else. Data leaves Estaro only where it has to: the payment gateway and acquiring bank that move the money, the services that send our email, and any disclosure the law requires of us.
Cookies
Estaro sets one cookie, so that you stay signed in between pages. It is signed, it cannot be read by scripts in your browser, and signing out ends it. There are no advertising or analytics trackers.
How long we keep it
Payment records stay for as long as the corporation needs them for its own accounts and for as long as the law requires us to hold them. Everything else we remove when a corporation asks, or when we no longer need it for the purpose it was given for.
